7 May 2013

Following an Animals Australia investigation into reports of shockingly brutal treatment of Australian cattle at Egypt's two 'approved' abattoirs, ABC's 7.30 aired a hard-hitting report revealing the abject failure of the live export industry to protect animals from abuse.

Cattle were shown having their leg tendons slashed, eyes gouged, and throats slit while fully conscious — a tragic reprise of our 2006 investigation into live export cruelty in Egypt.

You can watch the full interview with Dr Mahmoud Abdelwahab: the brave Egyptian whistleblower vet who spoke out for Australian animals suffering in Egypt — and take action below to help end this cruel trade for good!
