30 May 2012

The poignant image of a lone black steer, trembling violently in fear as he awaits his fate in an Indonesian slaughterhouse, will remain etched in the memory of many Australians.

'Tommy', as he became known, represented the callousness of the Australian live export trade, and the undeniable ability for all animals to experience fear. All was exposed on the evening of May 30th, 2011 when Four Corners broadcast footage from Animals Australia's tenth live export investigation.

While we have achieved much since that unforgettable night, our efforts to end the live export trade continue.
